When is Valentine’s Day 2022:

Valentine’s day is celebrated every year on the 14th of February. This year, Valentine’s Day falls on Monday 14th February 2022.

How did Valentine’s Day start?

Valentine’s Day is believed to have originate from a Roman festival called Lupercalia. This festival took place in the middle of February, signifying the start of spring.

During these celebrations, boys drew girls names from a jar and they would be paired off to be boyfriend and girlfriend for the festival. Sometimes they'd even get married!

However, you may be surprised to know that Valentine’s Day hasn’t always been a day to celebrate love. It was only until the Middle Ages when St. Valentine became the patron saint of love in both France and England.
