St Christopher Necklace: Craig Ferguson's Tartan Trek Story

Every piece of Lily Blanche jewellery tells a story and meaningful jewellery should do more than look good. It should convey a message, evoke strong feelings and help us to remember life's most significant moments. The Lily Blanche team is immensely proud to back Craig Ferguson and his incredible undertaking: The Tartan Trek; Craig's World Cup Challenge.

In order to raise £1 million for Scottish Action for Mental Health (SAMH) ahead of Scotland's opening Football World Cup Match in June 2026, Craig is walking across America from Los Angeles to Boston, coast to coast. This is the equivalent to walking a marathon a day for 100 consecutive days. It's a powerful illustration of purpose and resiliency in aid of mental health fundraising.

The Why Behind the Walk

For Craig, this an extremely personal mission. He believes nobody should have to face their toughest miles alone.

Craig is embarking on The Tartan Trek to increase awareness for mental health, a topic that impacts millions of people across the UK and beyond. Like so many others, he has personally witnessed the importance of honest conversations, getting help and eradicating the stigma associated with mental health.

Craig is taking an extraordinary step by walking 3,200 miles to draw attention to the fact that millions of people are silently struggling. His goal is straightforward but effective,
to start conversations, encourage support, and remind people they are not alone.

The Journey

Spanning 3200 miles across the United States, Craig’s journey is one of endurance, resilience, and purpose. Every step raises awareness and supports vital conversations around mental health.

The First Adventure

This isn't Craig's first time taking on an incredible journey, in 2024 he walked over 1,000 miles from Glasgow to Munich. He arrived in time for Scotland's first Euro's football match in 23 years and he raised over £78,000 for a men's mental health charity.

Why the St Christopher Necklace?

As part of this journey, Craig is wearing a St Christopher necklace from Lily Blanche , a timeless piece of jewellery that connects travellers and adventurers and is known for its symbolism.

St Christopher is the patron saint of travellers and wearing a St Christopher necklace is said to bring safe travels and protection. The Lily Blanche personalisation team has engraved Craig's St Christopher with the message:

“3000 miles for mental health”

The engraving transforms his necklace into a piece of jewellery that he will treasure for years to come and it will be a constant reminder of his incredible journey.

Speaking to Ailie, our Marketing Executive, Craig said: "Thank you again so much for this symbol I’ll carry it with me throughout."

Why This Matters

According to SAMH, approximately 1 in 4 people will face a mental health problem in their lifetime, For many people it is a daily struggle.

Campaigns like Craig's are about sparking conversations and reducing the stigma, not just fundraising.  By supporting causes like The Tartan Trek, we can help make mental health support more accessible, more talked about, and more understood.
