A short glance back and a big look forward.
2020 has been a challenging year for everyone. But there was still a great deal to celebrate and be thankful for, not least the support we received from our friends, customers and families.
Although the team worked from home for much of 2020, we were busier than ever. There was no shortage of work. We created ‘’lockets for lockdown" to help our customers celebrating special birthdays or anniversaries keep their loved ones close to their hearts even when they were far apart.
In March and April, we created our local hero project, highlighting the work of key workers who were going the extra mile for their communities as a thank you for keeping us safe and spreading kindness and joy. Watch Kelly's video below.
Although we were not able to travel far from home, Gillian returned to the Island of Skye in the Inner Hebrides in September to visit the croft where her grandmother, the original Lily Blanche, lived. It was a trip which has inspired some new collections which will be ready in 2021.
2020 was a year of learning. Natalie completed her qualification in digital marketing and Kelly started a digital marketing apprenticeship. David and Gillian completed the Strathclyde University ecommerce scale-up course and David started an apprenticeship in computing.
We started building a new website with lots of exciting new features which will be launched in 2021. We also launched our Facebook group Joyful Gems where we have loved seeing photos of you in your Lily Blanche jewellery and the memories you’ve made with them. We'd love to see you there so please join us
It was a tricky year for photoshoots but our super team were extra creative. You can see the results on your YouTube channel here and on Instagram here Please give us a follow while you are there.
In 2021 we will have some fantastic new collections. We’re launching a range of beautiful new chains and designing more in white gold. New collections which will allow you to combine your favourite Lily Blanche pieces with new charms, chains and gemstones will give you complete control and allow you to create a different bespoke piece of jewellery every time you visit the website. No two pieces will be the same.
Thank you to all of you for all your support in 2020. We hope 2021 will see the good times roll and we are excited to go on this journey with you. Have a wonderful new year and we look forward to connecting with you in 2021
