Looking for a charming and affordable jewellery gift which will surprise and delight? Our Carnelian Hoop Earrings are the ideal gift. These pretty earrings feature two 3-carat carnelian gemstones set in an 18-carat rose gold vermeil teardrop setting on medium-sized 18-carat rose gold vermeil hoops.
The gemstones are detachable and can be interchanged with our alternative stones. The hoops can also be worn without the gemstones. The perfect gift for a July birthday, our Carnelian earrings have fabulous clarity and depth of colour.
The Meaning of Carnelian
Carnelian is a semi-precious gemstone found in Peru, Sri Lanka, Thailand and the USA. It is sometimes known as cornelian or sard and ranges in colour from red to deep brown. Bright orange carnelian gemstones are the most highly prized.
Carnelian is July’s birthstone, a modern alternative to ruby. Carnelian has been used in jewellery making since neolithic times. Known as the “sunset stone” because of its vibrant orange hues, it symbolises passion and was also prized in ancient times as an aphrodisiac. The gemstones measure 13 mm x 10 mm. Hoops measure 15 mm
